Telematics is not the insurance industry's savior.

Root will take on established carriers like Netflix did with the entertainment industry: Get a foot in the door in a niche. And then innovate your way up. Nobody will be able to copy this moat.

Disclaimer: The information contained in this article is not and should not be construed as investment advice. This is my investing journey and I simply share what I do and why I do that for educational and entertainment purposes.

Lots of articles this week. I have a big idea backlog to clear. Hope you’re not feeling spammed. And don’t worry, coverage on unrelated new companies is in the pipeline as well. FA won’t become the exclusive Root fan club on Substack. :)

The title to this article may sound odd to you considering that I am very bullish on ROOT 0.00%↑ . After all, this company is proudly on a mission to disrupt the insurance industry with their innovative smartphone-based telematics. But you will understand the point I am making here by the end of the article.
