The importance of identifying investing synergies
The value of an asset is a function of who owns it. Our goal should be to identify assets and strategies for which we are better suited than others. This is true in investing and in life in general.
Merriam-Webster defines a synergy as a “mutually advantageous conjunction or compatibility of distinct business participants or elements”.
I’m proposing a different definition:
A synergy is a value change in an asset resulting from a change of ownership.
